ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਸ (Social Media Platforms) ਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਹੈ, ਸਰਕਾਰ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਫੋਰਮ ਵੀ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਲਈ ਜਾਰੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ 3 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ 53 ਕਰੋੜ ਵਟਸਐਪ ਹਨ, ਟਵਿੱਟਰ ‘ਤੇ 40 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਯੂਜ਼ਰ, 10 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਯੂਜ਼ਰ ਹਨ। ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ. ਰਵੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਆੱਨਲਾਈਨ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
